Obituary from Harvard Magazine: ALEXANDER NICHOLAS FOX ZABUSKY '86mcl died by suicide on August 4, 2008 in Pittsburgh. He had battled depression since his sophomore year at Harvard. He taught history at the University School, a private school for boys in Cleveland, before moving to Japan in 1991. He lived and worked in Japan for a decade, teaching English at a private boys' high school and giving private lessons to adults and children. He also wrote articles on Japanese life and culture that were published in the Japan Times and the New York Times. In 2001 he returned to the States and settled in Pittsburgh, where he became an active volunteer for the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania and also developed a successful business teaching English to Japanese graduate students and postdocs. At his death he was beginning an internship with the Jewish Family and Children's Service, working with refugees from Burma and Africa. He leaves his parents, Charlotte '54 and Norman, and two sisters, Stacia '81 and Erica '84. >>>> As a final tribute, the family established The Alexander Zabusky Fund to benefit both newly arrived refugees and individuals whose mental health issues affect their vocational plans.
