I began teaching High School students in 1950. With all humility, I was very good at it. Professors from Columbia and NYU brought their Students to see me in action, and encouraged me to get my Doctorate and Teach Teachers.
I got my degree in 1958, and had a delightful career at Patterson State in N.J,
Queens College in N.Y., Temple University in Philly, and as a full Professor, 25 years at the University of Massachusetts. Again, I was very good at it.
Authored and co-authored significant books in VALUES-CLARIFICATION, and wrote 10 others, including two Children's Books and one on GETTING UNSTUCK and one on FORGIVENESS. This took me on the lecture circuit where I delivered keynotes and workshops in every State except Alaska. I was invited to 8 Canadian Provinces, and 7 European Conferences.
I'll end my saying that I was a guest on the Oprah show and on the Phil Donahue show, back in that glorious period.
Right now I'm a snow bird with 6 months in Hadley, MA and 6 on Sanibel Island, FL.
I am a Theater Critic for the Sanibel-Islander, and a featured Story Teller at First Friday Stories at the Sanibel Library. Up North I just GO to theater, which is my hobby along with daily bike rides on the marvelous bike paths both in MA. and in FL.
Our four kids have all become wonderful people, and each of them, in specific ways are teachers, too. Six Grandchildren all refer to me, lovingly, as their Cheap Grampa. A title I work and polish regularly. Enough, now tell me about YOU.
